Third show takes us into the new year, and if you didn’t guess by the title, it’s Long Island’s own:
De La Soul – now I was very fortunate to catch De La Soul at The Rooftop at Pier 17 several years back, so this was bittersweet, as this was one of their first shows performing without Dave aka Plug 2 aka Trugoy the Dove – but that didn’t stop the party – a bevy of guests including Prince Paul, who produced the first three De La albums, along with Talib Kweli and the Jungle Brothers, kept the party rocking at Lincoln Center, who after a long time of shutting out hip-hop artists, was kind enough to open up it’s doors for an unforgettable evening! Shoutout to my bro, Carlos, for joining in on the fun.
